Lent begins this week. This is the ideal time to get to know Jesus better. In this blessed period our hearts are disposed to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
The School has a number of activities during the Lenten season. We begin with the Ash Wednesday School Mass, March 5th at 2:00. This Mass will include the reception of ashes. Some of our eighth grade students will assist in administering ashes at both the 12:00 liturgy service and the 2:00 Mass on Wednesday. Also, different classes will lead the student body in the Stations of the Cross in the Church beginning Friday, March 7 at 10:00 am. Future dates will be announced in the newsletter. The second graders will receive their First Reconciliation on Friday March 21 at 9:00 am. Finally, we will have our Trek, reenactment of the Last Supper and Stations on the last day before we break for Easter which is Wednesday, April 16.
All of these are opportunities for children to prepare themselves for the most important and solemn event of the liturgical year. How blessed we are to have this season of forty days to prepare for Holy Week and Easter! We invite you to join us for these activities.
