K of C Free Throw Competition Winners

free throw2The Knights of Columbus’ Free Throw Competition is an international competition held annually to promote youth activities. All students in fourth through eighth grade participated as part of Catholic Schools Week.

The top shooter for each age group was invited to compete at the District #9 competition held at Queen of Peace in Mesa last week. While some of the students could not attend the competition, alternates, Adrian Underwood (4B), Armaan Underwood (7A), and Jordan Herrera (5B), competed in their places. Five OLMC contestants won their divisions.

Jaydan, Jordan, Adrian, Scott, and Armaan will shoot for the state championships on March 5th at Notre Dame High School. The Championship will involve about 20-30 students from other schools in the district and  is open to the public, so come and root for our fearless falcons! The competition starts at 10:15 a.m. followed by an award ceremony and lunch for the participants. Congratulations and good luck to all those participating!
