Our kindergarten students visited Butterfly Wonderland this past week. As America’s largest butterfly conservatory, this beautiful, state-of-the-art facility features thousands of butterflies from around the world and several interactive nature exhibits.
The children viewed a 3D movie theater presentation about the life cycle of a butterfly before entering the indoor butterfly atrium constructed to imitate a tropical rainforest habitat. Inches away from live chrysalis, the students were able to see butterflies emerging and flying freely, even landing on some of the visitors. Other exhibits included glass encasements of desert insects, honey bees, and a freshwater aquarium complete with a touch tank of stingray.
We’d like to thank those that participate in the Food for Thought Program for making learning opportunities like this possible.
