What to Expect at Orientation

Back to SchoolOur annual orientation events are scheduled for August 8, 2016. We’re handling orientation a bit differently this year by separating the school into two groups: Meet the Teacher Day for K-6th grade (9:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.) and Back to School Night for 7th and 8th grade (6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.).

Each event will essentially have the same information; however, due to the rotating class schedule of the junior high, we thought it best to provide a more individualized classroom orientation experience to suit their unique needs. While Meet the Teacher Day is structured as an open house, the junior high Back to School Night will feature a presentation for parents scheduled to begin promptly at 6:45 p.m. in each student’s individual home room.

Both orientation events will begin in McCready Hall with informational booths presenting our various programs, school groups, and ways you can get involved in the school community.

You’ll find out who your child’s teacher is and complete paperwork for the year, after which parents are welcome to go to their child’s classroom to drop of school supplies, meet his/her teacher, and pick up a packet of information that will cover the teacher’s lesson plan for the year. We encourage parents to familiarize themselves with the class policies and procedures and to ask questions.

What follows is a list of the type of informational booths that have been included in past orientations:

Don’t forget to check out our orientation checklist! If you’re unable to make the orientation events, please contact the school office at 480-967-5567, ext. 0. Representatives will be ready to assist you starting July 25th.
