Dear OLMC Families,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. The year ahead should be unique and exciting. Sometime during the first semester, we are looking forward to welcoming the Sisters of the Plan of God, who will be joining our community. When we have confirmation of an arrival date, we will begin planning a meet and greet in conjunction with the parish.
We will begin this year on Monday with Meet the Teacher Day and Back to School Night. You should have received a letter from me with specific details on each event. For those families with students in grades kindergarten through sixth, we look forward to seeing you between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Please remember that students should remain with their parents at all times during Meet the Teacher Day. As the teachers will be using their time to speak with students and parents, they will not be available to supervise students. Campus will be closed from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For those families with students in the junior high, we will welcome parents to campus at 6:00 p.m. Please remember that parents must complete the required paperwork provided during these events so that their student can begin attending classes on Wednesday.
Finally, please make note of a few upcoming events. Remember that we will have Mass on Wednesday the 10th. Monday, August 15th, is The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a holy day of obligation. Therefore, we will have Mass that day instead of Wednesday the 17th. Please make sure your students dress appropriately. On August 27th, the Dad’s Club will host the Welcome Back Cookout. We hope to see you there.
Please do not forget that, for the first two days of school, ALL students must bring their lunches. Pizza will be sold on Friday, and the lunch program will begin on Monday the 15th.
I am excited to welcome the students back to campus next week. I hope that all of our families have had an enjoyable summer vacation.
