Principal’s Corner – August 14, 2016

Dear OLMC Families,

The first week of the school year is done! While the journey of the school year is still in its infancy, it has been wonderful to have the students back on campus and to spend time with our families during pickup and drop-off.

One of the things I heard consistently last year was that families wished we had a school store in order to buy OLMC shirts, hats, etc. As some of you may have noticed on our website, we now have our own Falcons Spirit Store. On each first Friday jeans day this year, students must either wear their uniforms or jeans and spirit shirts with the OLMC logo on it. This would include festival shirts. I encourage you to take a look at the school store to see what items are offered. There are a myriad of choices for students, parents, and other family members to show their OLMC spirit.

If you have not already, please visit our website and our social media outlets. This is another way we seek to keep you up-to-date on the happenings and events taking place at the school.

Finally, don’t forget we will celebrate our all school Mass on Monday (8/15) this week. Please make sure students are in proper Mass dress. For those of you, who are new to our community, know that you are always welcome to join us for Mass.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hermie
Principal
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School

Kindergarten PlaygroundHow FFT Helps our School: Playground Equipment

There’s no limit to the ways using FFT can help our school community.

Not too long ago, thanks to FFT purchases, the kindergarten received brand new playground equipment. And it doesn’t end there. The profit OLMC shares with its families goes toward enriching our student experiences at all grade levels.

Even better, our students benefit at no extra cost to you. Participating at any level, whether that be equal to your normal, everyday purchases or for just your grocery bill, makes campus improvements like this possible. On behalf of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, thank you for your contributions to our school.

#Food for ThoughtBright Ideas from FFT: Donations

At OLMC, we promote a culture of giving. It’s for this reason that we encourage our families to participate in our social outreach programs, such as our Works of Mercy Campaign and community-building events.

We can maximize the good by using FFT gift cards when we contribute to these ministering opportunities. Use FFT gift cards for:

  • Buying supplies for our donation drives
  • Donating items to events, like our Welcome Back Cookout
  • Contributing school supplies or other items

Using FFT to make your regular purchases gives our school the capability to minister to the community at large and change lives in the process. When Food for Thought benefits, everyone wins.

Check out our entire stock of gift cards at our ordering website.
