Principal’s Corner – August 21, 2016

hermiebruceDear OLMC Community,

As you have seen this week, if you follow our social media accounts, we are trying to get the word out about Falcon Catering, our new lunch program. Feedback from the students has been very positive, and I feel fortunate to have a member of our OLMC community serving our families and students. Remember to place all orders by Saturday at noon. If you miss the deadline, walk-up ordering is still available. Instructions for ordering are on the school website.

In last week’s newsletter, we outlined one of the benefits of our FFT program which allowed the school to purchase new playground equipment for the kindergartners. This year the newsletter will continuously highlight all of the positive ways your use of the FFT program helps the school and your children. If you are unaware, FFT is the main funding source for our Home & School parent group. Each year, Home & School provides funding for various activities around campus, field trips, and upgrades to the school in the form of instructional materials and programs. This program is vital to school growth, and I would encourage all families to not only meet the FFT minimum, but seek to continuously support the program throughout the year. Should you have any questions regarding the FFT program, please stop in to the front office to answer your questions.

Finally, next Saturday (Aug. 27th) is the Welcome Back Cookout hosted by the Dad’s Club. I hope all families will join us from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. for food, fellowship, and fun.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hermie
Principal
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School
