Principal’s Corner – September 11, 2016

hermiebruceDear OLMC Families,

This week, the teachers will proctor ITBS testing during regular class time. These tests are used as a snapshot as to where students are in their academic growth. If you have students in second through eighth grade, please make sure they are getting to bed at a reasonable time, eating a good breakfast, and coming to school refreshed. I have asked the teachers to give minimal homework throughout the week.

As a Catholic school, one of the most important things we do is celebrate our all school mass each week. This is essential to the development of our community and the development of Catholic identity in our students. I would ask that parents please do their best not to schedule appointments during mass times. I know balancing schedules can be difficult, but there is no substitute for the time we spend in prayer and giving thanks as a community.

Our girls volleyball and boys football teams will begin their games this coming week. Please come out and support the kids as they get their seasons started.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hermie
Principal
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School
