We’re in the final days of Advent, and our students welcome our Lord with open arms! Our student council visited with Veterans on Pearl Harbor Day, singing carols to the residents of the Community Living Center at the VA hospital. They also delivered 18 Christmas trees and 360 cards from OLMC students.
In the 5th grade, our students made Advent Magi boxes filled with all the kind and loving things the students would be doing for their families during Advent. Our thanks goes out to Mrs. Shewbridge for her help with this project. The students also made O Antiphons ornaments, an Advent tradition dating back to the 8th century. Used during the 4th week of Advent, the ornaments display titles that the Old Testament prophets gave to Jesus as they waited for his coming.
And finally, our 1st and 6th grade buddies made gingerbread houses together and exchanged gifts. It was the perfect opportunity for the buddies, both big and little, to celebrate mentor relationship OLMC’s buddy program inspires. On behalf of OLMC, we wish everyone a fun and safe Christmas break!
