The OLMC Garden Club is meeting:
Monday, February 27, 2017
from 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
in the 4B Classroom
This club is open to students in 4th through 8th grade. Come help us plant for the season! This meeting will involve distributing organic, non-GMO soil into planter boxes and planting organic seeds for our Pizza Garden, Spaghetti Garden, Salsa Garden, and Vegetable Garden. Donations of gardening tools and materials are happily accepted!
Please bring an 8 or 9 inch pot (you may decorate it if you wish, but please make sure it has a hole on the bottom or a plate to catch water runoff). Pick one plant or flower you would like to nurture throughout the remainder of the school year, and bring the seeds with the pot (a sandwich bag or a full bag of seeds is fine, just make sure it is only one type). Dirt will be provided in the classroom–no messes in the family car! Please have these two items in the 4B classroom by Wednesday, February 22, 2017. The planting and growing project will be a science grade to help the students learn about the plant cycle, our environment, and our responsibility in taking care of the world around us, as we work together as a community.
