Newsletter: How to Afford Catholic Education Evening

Principal’s Corner – March 12, 2017

As we begin the fourth and final quarter of the school year, there is much to look forward to in the coming months. As I am sure you have noticed, festival preparations are underway with t-shirt and raffle ticket sales, auction items coming in, and the arrival of the tents and games just around the corner.  The festival is a unique and special event for our community. While it is termed the “Parish Festival,” the event serves as the biggest fundraiser for the school throughout the year. Please let your friends and families know about the event and invite them to join us on April 1st. If you would like additional information on this year’s festival, please visit our Festival page.

There was an over-site on this year’s school calendar that I want to clarify. The last day of school this year is a half day with 12:30 p.m. dismissal, just as it has been in years past.

Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is now open for all families. If you have family members or friends who would like to register their students, please have them contact the front office.

Penny War!

Back by popular demand, OLMC is having its annual Penny War during the month of March to benefit Maggie’s Place.

The Penny War is a friendly Lenten competition between classrooms in which students are asked to bring in as many pennies as they can to place in their classroom container.

An added twist this year is that every classroom will partner with a buddy class. As a way to promote school spirit and boost contributions, the student council will award the Golden Piggy Bank to the class team who collects the most pennies each week.

This week the Golden Pig goes to team 2A/8A! As a school, we raised $813.68 this week alone! Thank you for your support. The war continues next week!

Important News for Arizona Scholarship Fund Recipients

Attention families who have received funds from Arizona Scholarship Fund:

Since ASF is no longer a certified Student Tuition Organization (STO), you will need to register with another STO. Please advise your donors and visit the ASF website for important paperwork for your new STO of choice. You can find a list of frequently used STOs on our website.

You will need proof of qualification for the 348 (Switcher/PLUS), corporate low-income, and corporate disabled/displaced tax credits for your new STO. You can print a copy of the awards you’ve received from ASF by logging into your family file, as ASF will not complete the forms for you.
