Newsletter: Win a Go Pro Camera, $2,500 in Jewelry, or Cash Prizes at the Festival

Principal’s Corner – March 19, 2017

This past Friday we celebrated a special event as our second graders made their first Reconciliation. The prayer service and reception were outstanding, and I thank all those who participated in making this event so special for our students. View pictures of the event>>

The Parish Festival is just around the corner. Festival t-shirts are available for sale each morning, and kids’ and super raffle sales are under way. We are grateful for the work of all our families in making this year’s festival a success.

Tomorrow, we will be hosting an evening on how to afford Catholic education. The night is aimed at providing families information on how to use CEA and other STO’s to finance tuition. Please contact Mrs. Kubicki if you would like to attend.

How to Avoid Festival Hour Charges

The festival is just 13 days away. We still have many families who have zero or less than six of their required volunteer hours. Per the school contract if you do not complete your festival hours you will be charged $100.00 per hour not completed.

To ensure you will not be charged, sign-up for festival hours via the sign-up genius before this Sunday, March 26th at midnight. The tabs/drop down menu at the top of the sign-up note additional volunteer categories. Also, on the day of the festival, all volunteers must sign-in at the volunteer booth located outside of  the southeast entrance of McCready hall. For questions please contact our volunteer coordinator, Ashley Hall. Thank you for your support.

How FFT Helps Our School: Sacraments

At OLMC, we endeavor to give our students the tools to live out their Catholic faith in meaningful ways and embrace the channels of grace the Lord has bestowed. Through Sacramental preparation, students learn the beauty of grace in their lives and the significance of coming into full communion with the church.

School Advisory Board Vice President:
Carey Anthony

Meet Carey. Currently Vice President of the School Advisory Board, Carey assists the board president when necessary, attends monthly meetings, and assumes the role of President for the 2017-18 school year. All of the SAB members are representatives of OLMC, and attend school functions, such as open houses and other events, to answer questions and promote our wonderful school community to the public.

As a wife and mother, Carey is excited that her SAB service doesn’t interfere with her busy schedule as a homeroom parent, executive chair of the OLMC Parish Festival Auction Committee, and as a full-time practicing attorney at a local law firm.

“I enjoy hearing the ideas brought before the SAB in their infancy and seeing their implementation, making our wonderful school community better and stronger. I believe that we are called to serve our community, and the SAB fulfills this servant leadership role.” -Carey Anthony

Looking for a way to serve OLMC with minimal impact on your existing volunteering roles? SAB may be the right opportunity for you. Serving on the School Advisory Board is perfect for parents with the desire to affect real change in the school community. Questions? Contact one of our SAB members.

Forget Selling! Start Shopping with ShopwithScrip!

Scrip makes fundraising a breeze. You won’t have to worry about selling a thing! To fund-raise with scrip, all you have to do is continue making your everyday purchases.

Instead of paying with cash, credit, or check, you purchase gift cards to your favorite retailers. These gift cards carry a rebate that goes towards OLMC. The rebates can add up quickly. Take a look to see how much you can raise per year just by shopping.

Registering for ShopwithScrip takes 5-7 business days for account set up. After you’ve signed up, you’ll have the capability to purchase electronic scrip in-store while you shop. No need to wait for the next FFT day. No need to carry gift cards. E-cards are fast, simple, and convenient and work from your smartphone. Contact Cindy Younger, our FFT coordinator, for questions or to sign up.
