There’s so much happening on the OLMC campus!
Our OLMC Cub Scouts’ Pinewood Derby was great fun, and so was our preschool’s Donuts with Dads!
Over in the 1st grade, the students celebrated their fathers and honored St. Joseph by holding their annual St. Joseph’s breakfast.
The 4th graders presented the stations of the cross for our school, and our 5th graders assembled birthday boxes for St. Vincent de Paul as a Lenten service project. In total, our students put together 14 boxes filled with all kinds of things to insure that boys and girls would have a nice birthday celebration when their birthdays arrive. Mrs. Knox and Mrs. Bowers delivered the boxes last weekend to very appreciative St. Vincent de Paul staff.
Meanwhile, the 6th graders held their annual Greek Night, featuring a Greek dance, live statues, and the 6th grade’s production of “The Gods Must Be Crazy: The Story of Cupid and Psyche.” The students opened the night with a Greek song and the Lord’s Prayer in Greek. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Annemarie Mulligan, Mr. Michael Cook, Mrs. Anna Aguilera, Kyra O’Conner, Gianna Pierson, Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Pivonka for their assistance with the festivities. Thanks also to Craig Pierson and Salut Catering for the delicious Greek food.
The 6th grade also had a field trip to Halle Heart Museum in Tempe this week. During their trip, the students engaged in an interactive tour, learning the science behind the human heart. In association with the American Heart Association, The Halle Heart Museum promotes a healthy lifestyle, featuring games, music, and exhibits designed around science, health, and physical education standards.
And finally, the Sister Servants of the Plan of God conducted a junior high retreat with our students this past Friday. Thank you for entrusting your children with OLMC.
