The OLMC’s Sr. Valeria Library and Media Center enriches the lives of our students by offering the information and resources they need to succeed. Named for former Principal Sister Valeria, our library offers state-of-the-art technology and over 12,000 books and literary sources.
The library is home to the primary grades’ computer classes, using emerging software programs designed to engage students and reinforce classroom lessons. Through research projects and programs like our Accelerated Reader Program, not only do we encourage a lifelong love of learning and literacy in our students, we also intend–as evidenced by our Student Learning Expectations–to launch responsible citizens who think critically, communicate effectively, and solve problems efficiently.
For this reason, a portion of our FFT program funds the needs of library, supplying things like books, labels, covers, repair items, and technology. Thanks to Food for Thought purchases, Home & School was recently able to enhance student technology with the addition of Chromebook flip tablets. It’s reasons like this that make FFT such a useful and vital program for our school.
Even better, we bring these resources at no additional cost to our families. On behalf of the Home & School Board, thank you for your participation. We look forward to your continued support in the future.
