Dear OLMC Community,
I would like to congratulate all OLMC students who made their First Communion/Confirmation on Saturday. It was a wonderful ceremony and event.
On Wednesday, we will bid a fond farewell to the graduating class of 2017. I invite all members of our community to join us at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate this milestone in their lives. Please pray for our graduates as they move onto the next phase of their academic lives.

This Week on Campus
This week we celebrated mothers during our preschool and first grade Mother’s Day events. On behalf of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, we’d like to thank all of our school moms who enrich our school with their time, their talents, and their most valuable treasures, their children.
Our third graders also read to our first grade students.

Top 10 Things to Do Before the End of the School Year
The last day of school is May 26th. Teachers will dismiss their classes at 12:30 p.m. This also ends the grading period. What follows is an end of the year checklist:
- Turn in all library books and ensure all fines are paid.
- Confirm that all school fees for the year are paid. You can check to see if you have an outstanding balance in RenWeb.
- Check the lost and found. All unclaimed items will go to charity or the used uniform sale over summer break.
- If you haven’t already, sign up for ShopwithScrip. Contact Cindy Younger for more information.
- If your child uses a chromebook, they are due during the last week of school for 6th and 7th graders. Please ensure the case and charger are also returned.
- Order school supply kits for your students for next year. A current list of school supplies is on our website.
- Sign up to help or provide food for the End of Year BBQ.
- Submit box tops and Campbell’s soup labels for the final submission.
- If you so desire, contribute to the teachers’ end of the year gifts in the office.
- Check out the volunteer opportunities to decide how you’d like to help OLMC next year.
*NEW* If your child was involved in sports, please be sure to return his/her team jersey to Mr. Sanders by May 19th. There is a $40.00 charge for unreturned jerseys. Also, don’t forget to schedule a meeting with Deacon Jim if you wish to become a Stewardship family. May Morning Rosary
Please join us in the Prayer Garden for our daily Rosary in honor of our Blessed Mother, Mary. Each morning, during the month of May, we will gather for a decade of the rosary led by the students. We hope to see you there.
Thank You for Box Tops!
We’d like to extend our thanks to those families who contributed Box Tops for Education this year. Because of your donations, OLMC earned $922.00 this year just in box tops! Keep them coming! If you have any you’d like to donate before summer hits, you can submit them in the school office. Thank you for your support!
School Supply Kits
It’s time to pre-order school supply kits for the 2017-18 school year. Save yourself time and money! Schoolkidz, a Staples Company, offers wholesale prices with no shipping costs or sales tax for online orders.
Each grade has a customized kit according to teachers’ supply lists for next year. Check out the Schoolkidz website for pricing information or to order. Our school code is 80193. A sample kit will be on display in the school office.

End of the Year Staff Gifts
Our beloved reading specialist, Mrs. Wilson, was inadvertently left off of the end of year teachers’ gift list. If you’d like to contribute to a FFT gift for her (or any of your children’s teachers), Home & School has arranged for collection envelopes in the front office.

Library Books & Fines Due THIS WEDNESDAY May 17th
The school library will close May 19th for inventory; therefore, be sure you return all library books and pay all fines by May 17th. Please note that you will not receive your child’s final report card without paying all fees and returning loaned items. Thank you for your cooperation.
Still Looking for Summer Camps?
There are a few summer camps still accepting students in the area.
Also, registration is now open for Seton Summer Sports and Enrichment Camps. Does your kindergarten through 12th grade student love baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, or volley ball? We have the camp for you! Sports camps run May through July. Get in the game and reserve your spot today! Visit the Seton website to register.
Get on stage this summer with Seton’s Summer Music Theater Camp! The summer Music Theater Camp is made up of two weeks of singing, dancing, and acting. Participants will be involved in small and large ensemble groups. See the Seton website to register.

OLMC Family Clothing Swap – May 20th

This is a great opportunity to pass along children’s clothing and maternity wear of all sizes in exchange for clothing that your family can use. There is no cost involved in this event. You may drop off items at OLMC either in the school office or the south entrance of the sanctuary near the tithing kiosk.
Please separate items by gender and size. No need to bring anything in order to participate. Donate even if you don’t plan on attending the swap. Whatever is left will be donated to Maggie’s Place. Bring your own bag and we’ll see you there! Questions? Contact Meredith Smith.

Did you know that stewardship families have access to most parish services at no cost,* including tuition at OLMC School? Summer FFT Hours
FFT will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the school office June 1st through June 27th.
FFT will be closed June 29th for audit. You can also order online for pick up after weekend masses. Online orders must be placed by Friday at noon for weekend pickup.
IBE Second Round of Scholarship Funds
Families may continue to apply for the Institute for Better Education (IBE) low-income corporate program for an anticipated second round of funds. This is for families who meet 185% of free and reduced lunch guidelines and students who are entering kindergarten, transferring from an Arizona public school, active duty military dependent, previous corporate or PLUS recipient, or disabled preschooler. This in-store event is where you can pick up new uniforms for the 2017-18 school year. While you’re there you can stock up on other FFT scrip you may need for back-to-school shopping, last minute summer getaways, or grocery store gift cards for those breakfasts/lunches on the go.
