Falcon Five-2

1. Principal’s Corner

Dear OLMC Community,hermie

I had the good fortune to attend this year’s International Catholic Stewardship Council Conference in Atlanta earlier this month. As many of you know, there is an outstanding stewardship program and culture in our Parish. During the conference, I was reminded of just how vibrant our Parish and school communities are and of the welcoming environment we work to create to help our students become good stewards of the faith. It was fascinating to see how other schools and parishes from around the world look to interact with their members to build community and serve God’s plan. I am grateful to Father John for his leadership and dedication to our school as he seeks to support the mission and ministry set forth to grow and support our community. If you would like to learn more about stewardship and the role it plays in our parish and school, please contact Deacon Jim Brett in the parish office at .

I want to make sure all parents are aware that our Catholic high schools will be hosting open houses on various dates throughout the months of October and November. Open houses are an outstanding opportunity for parents and students to tour the schools, meet with administration, faculty, and staff, and explore what each individual community has to offer. Families are also presented with the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the faith formation, academic, and co-curricular programs the schools offer. Open houses are available to families with children in all grades. This year’s open house dates for each of our Catholic high schools are as follows.

October 22nd: St. John Paul II Catholic High School

October 28th and November 8th: Seton Catholic Preparatory

October 29th: Xavier College Preparatory

November 5th: St. Mary’s High School

November 5th: Notre Dame Preparatory

November 12th: Brophy College Preparatory

November 16th and 19th: Bourgade Catholic High School

Please see the individual school websites for more details. If you have any questions regarding the high school admissions process, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Next Friday, October 6th, is a First Friday half-day with a 12:30 dismissal. Any student not picked up by 12:45 will be sent to Kid’s Club. Students may wear OLMC spirit shirts and jeans or jean shorts. Jeans may not have rips or tears and must be navy in color. As always, students are permitted to wear their uniform shirts and bottoms as well.

Do you like to plan parties and host events? If so, Home & School needs you! The Home and School Board is looking for hospitality volunteers to help plan and host refreshments for school events throughout the school year. Volunteers help coordinate teacher lunches/breakfast, coffrees, field day lunch and sacrament receptions. This is a wonderful way to share your gifts with the community.
