Falcon Five-2

Dear OLMC Community,hermie

Thank you to those families who joined us for Home and School’s St. Nick Breakfast on Sunday. It was a fantastic turnout by the community, and I hope that all families who attended enjoyed their morning. I want to especially thank our Home and School Board and volunteers who worked to make the event possible.

As Christmas break approaches, I would invite all families to use our FFT program for all your gift card and present buying needs. Thank you to all our families who have met their FFT minimum and continue to use the program to benefit the students. There are currently a number of bonuses that can be taken advantage of, and FFT will be sold at the Christmas play on December 20th.

I would ask all parents help in cleaning up a couple of issues in the parking lot. When dropping off students in the morning, please do so on the south side of the lot so parishioners exiting from morning mass and staff members entering for the day can navigate the north side safely. Also, as you enter campus, please enter slowly and be aware of pedestrians crossing and cross traffic moving to the front of the church at the exit. Thank you for your diligence in making the pick-up and drop-off processes safe for all.

We will be partnering with the Coding with Kids organization starting in January to offer coding classes for students in Kindergarten-5th grades after school. A flyer is included in this week’s newsletter with more information on the classes. Chess club will also be offered again on campus second semester. Both clubs provide an outstanding opportunity for students to develop critical thinking skills outside of the regular school day.

Wondering what to do about teacher gifts this year?Pinterest Fail

Worried about another “Pinterest Fail”?

Don’t be! For your convenience, Home & School is gathering their annual collection for teachers and staff. Teachers and Staff have put together FFT Wish Lists, and all YOU have to do is send in this easy form (along with cash or a check payable to OLMC) to the school office by Friday, December 15. That’s it! Teacher gifts done!

This is a strictly voluntary collection, but it is an easy and convenient way to give back to the teachers and staff who do so much during the school year. Donations may be directed to specific individuals or given to be distributed amongst all of our hardworking staff.

No donation is too big or too small. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

A reminder about FFT Minimums:FFT Holiday Hours
This past week, any family that has not earned half ($87.50) towards the required $175 profit (“FFT Minimum”) has had the balance due added to their RenWeb account.  This is a courtesy notice and is not necessarily the amount that will be billed in May.  It is posted in December this year in the hope that anyone owing will use FFT for holiday shopping to reduce or eliminate the amount due. A lot of FFT gift cards are currently available, and sale hours have been extended to EVERY SCHOOL DAY from now until the break. Stop by the office or order online at As another solution, families can also pay the $175 and claim it as a tax donation deduction for 2017.
All families have until 4/30/18 to earn the minimum $175. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy @ or at 480-967-5567 x 2.
