Falcon Five-2

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,hermie

Second semester is officially underway. It was a pleasure to welcome the students back to campus this week. There are a few opportunities for students to get involved in co-curricular school programs for the second semester:

Enrollment is still open for the Coding with Kids and Chess classes that will take place on campus, after school. The flyer for each of these classes is included in the newsletter. In order for the classes to take place, a minimum enrollment must be reached, so please sign your student up as soon as possible.

Enrollment for Girl’s Basketball and Boy’s Baseball is now open as well. Registration packets can be picked up in the front office, and please contact Coach Sanders with any questions you may have.

Casino Night, hosted by the OLMC Dad’s Club, will take place on January 27th. Please join us for a night of food and fun to benefit the school.

We will once again be collecting items for our annual Catholic School’s Week food drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul during the month of January. A list of items each class is asked to bring in is included in this week’s newsletter. This truly is one of the highlights of Catholic School’s Week as the students participate in the preparing of the food boxes and send cards of encouragement to those families receiving them. Thank you for your support in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hermie

Principal

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School

A SPECIAL NOTE

Thank You!

WOW!  We are so touched by your generous Christmas gift, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!  Each of us had the chance to select the gift cards we wanted from FFT, and we will remember the OLMC community fondly as we enjoy using them.  Thank you for adding to the joy of our Christmas, and, more importantly, thank you for the continued blessing of being part of your children’s lives!

We wish you all a very Blessed New Year!

Mr. Hermie, Mrs. Shewbridge, Mrs. Watson, Nurse David, Mrs. Kubicki & Mrs. Cornforth

8. Field Day Volunteers

Volunteer for Field Day

FIELD DAY

Field Day is an afternoon of fun and games for the students of OLMC during Catholic Schools Week. The children are divided into three levels: K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Each level is divided into groups of 4-6 children. These children will then go to 15 different stations with their groups and play a game against another group. At least 1-2 parents are needed for each station at each level. The games are not hard, and all instruction and materials will be provided and setup for you.

Home & School will provide lunch for each volunteer starting at 12:15 p.m., but please check in by 12:30 p.m. to get your assignment. Volunteers should dress for the weather (layers are good, hats, sunscreen and sunglasses, too).

If it is raining on this day and administration deems it necessary to change the date of the field day, the rain day will be Thursday, February 1st.

Please click on the Sign-up Genius link if you would like to volunteer.

For questions, please contact the field day coordinator, LeeAnne Cardenas, at jnlcardenas@msn.com or phone/text 602-578-5777.
