Falcon 5 Extended Ed

Dear OLMC Community,

Thank you to all our parents who joined us for conferences last week. We look forward to continuing our shared partnership in educating our students. Please remain in touch with us for any questions you may have regarding your student’s progress.

Thank you also to all the parents and grandparents who assisted with the Book Fair. It was a great success and we will be able to purchase several books for the library.

On Monday, November 12th we will host our annual Taste of Kindergarten presentation from 8:30 a.m.-10:00. If you know of any families who have children and may be interested in joining the OLMC community, please direct them to our website for more information.

We are in the home stretch of our Thanksgiving food drive benefiting St. Vincent de Paul. Thank you to those who have already donated to help those in need. We will continue to collect until Friday.

Home and School sent information home this week about the St. Nick Breakfast. This was a huge hit last year and we are looking forward to another great breakfast! Sign up early as space is limited!

We will have the FFT credit card week coming up November 13, 15, and 16 so please take this opportunity to stock up for Christmas.

Finally, it has come to my attention that there are several cars parking in two spaces at drop off and pick up. Please be cognizant of parking in the lines so we have enough room for all! Thank you for your attention to this.

Festival Logo Contest 19

OLMC Community,

On behalf of the Home and School Board, I wanted to say thank you for your participation in last Saturday’s first annual Trunk or Treat. A ton of time and work was invested to ensure the event was an opportunity to strengthen our community as a whole, while the children got to show off their costumes, trick or treat, make crafts, get their faces painted, take photos, and enjoy dinner together. The positive response was overwhelming, and we are excited to keep this tradition going for many years to come!
A special thank you to the students who helped us collect and count candy, Pete Lopez for providing the fun music, the Faith Formation group for providing the religious crafts, the seventh and eighth graders who spent the afternoon face painting, and to all the parents who decorated their trunks so wonderfully for all of us to enjoy!

TorT winner

Congratulations to the family with the winning trunk: the Araiza Family with their under
the sea theme! They will receive free admittance into the St. Nick Breakfast on Dec 15th.

We are already hard at work on our next event, the St. Nick Breakfast on December 15th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This will be our second annual breakfast and one you don’t want to miss! The morning is filled with breakfast for your family, pictures with St. Nick (a 5×7 is included with registration fee), crafts, games, and lots of special memories. Seating is limited, and we did sell out last year! Please get your registration forms and cash or check into the front office as soon as possible! (Early registration rates increase after Nov 16th).

Lastly, we hope to see you all at the Coffree on Nov 16th. Another Used Uniform sale will take place that morning as well.

Thanks again for helping to build our wonderful community.

NOV Coffree 2018

As the weather is cooling off, I am excited to bring back our running program for the 9th year! This is my first year and I’m so excited to be a part of it. We have one practice each week and run in four different events throughout the year. Practices will be held on Tuesdays during lunch recess. We will do a few stretches and then run four laps (or more for those who want to) around the field which equals one mile. Each week the children are given running charms upon completing their laps. Running is such a great way to teach healthy habits and encourage being fit and active. I look forward to helping the children improve…from having to walk a lot at first to being able to run the entire time.

The program is open to all students in K-6thgrade.  Please have your permission slips in by November 15th.  Practices will begin on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
