1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

I hope you are enjoying this long weekend with your family. As I have mentioned in the past, we are fortunate to have so many volunteers help us out when in need. With that being said, we could really use some assistance in the following areas:

The Father/Daughter Dance is quickly approaching and we have few volunteers. This is one of those events the girls just love!! Let’s give Dad the night off to focus on his little girl or girls and volunteer to make this event great. Below is the link to sign up.

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f44aaa629a6fc1-15th

The FFT gift card program and the Parish Festival are the two biggest fundraising events we have here at OLMC. We are in need of volunteers for the following positions:

  1. Chairman for Games & Booths
  2. Book Sale Chairperson
  3. Sno-cone, popcorn and ice cream chair

You do not have to have any experience to fill one of these positions. There will be assistance for you. Additionally, you will meet so many fellow parents and parishoners you will be glad you signed up to chair!

We will kick off preparations for this year’s festival, “Connect With Us”, this coming week by selling t-shirts before and after school beginning Thursday, February 21st. These t-shirts may be worn for Spirit Day. Please visit the festival website for information concerning the live and silent auction, rides, and entertainment.

There is no school on Monday due to President’s Day.

We will be hosting a Catholic book fair in the library on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please stop by and purchase some books!

On Sunday, February 24thafter the 9am and 11am Masses, we will be hosting a Kindergarten and Preschool Open House for parishioners and anyone interested in attending OLMC and would like more information. If you know someone interested in the preschool or kindergarten, please encourage them to attend.

Have a restful weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Shewbridge

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

Thank you to all the parents who came in to register these past two weeks. Registration is still open, but the fee has increased. We are very excited for what is to come next year with all the remodeling from Shea! The classrooms will be upgraded along with the technology. There are many additional improvements to the campus they will be making. More information to come!

On Monday the Parish Festival Kid’s Raffle tickets will be coming home. We are asking for each student to try to sell $50.00 worth of raffle tickets. If so, they can earn a jean’s day!

On Wednesday Progress Reports will be sent via email. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

This Friday is a half day. The children can wear their spirit shirts and their uniform bottoms. Any student not picked up by 12:45 will go to Kid’s Club.

Thank you for supporting the Chipotle fundraiser this week. We are doing well with these fundraisers.

The last day to sign up for the Father/Daughter Dance is quickly approaching. Please stop by the office to sign up. If you have never been, this is one of those “favorite memory” nights for the girls. If Dad is unavailable, Uncles or Grandpas are welcome.

Have a wonderful weekend!

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

We had such a wonderful Catholic Schools Week. It would not have been so successful without the help of all our volunteers! Below is a recap of the week:

On Monday we began with Mass. It was wonderful to have so many parents stay to celebrate with us.

Field Day on Tuesday was great! Thank you to Home and School for providing free pizza and drinks for all the students, teachers and volunteers. Additionally, thank you so much for all the parents who took the day off to help. Finally, thank you also for all the orange donations. It took so many hands to make the day wonderful. Your time and donations are appreciated.

On Wednesday we had the Student Showcase. This was fantastic! The classrooms looked awesome and the children were so proud of their work! It was great to see so many families come out to support the children.

On Thursday we had an assembly about vocations with Fr. Sullivan and Sr. Monica. This was engaging and fun for all. The Faith Formation Committee planned this assembly, and it was very well done. Thank you!

Friday the children packed the St. Vincent de Paul boxes. Thank you so much for all your donations.

As I reflect upon this week, I cannot help but think how fortunate I am to belong to a community that gives back so much to the school and the surrounding community. These events would not have been possible if it were not for the help of so many. I cannot thank you enough.

Looking forward, we will have another fundraiser hosted by the Dad’s Club at Chipotle on Monday, February 4th. The location is 815 East Baseline Suite 118 from 4-8 pm. We have scrip too!

Please do not forget we will continue registration this week before and after school.

Have a wonderful week.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Shewbridge

5. 2019 OLMC FESTIVAL “CONNECT WITH US”

The 2019 OLMC “Connect with Us” Festival is right around the corner!

Saturday, April 6, 2019 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Each family is required to complete a minimum of six (6) service hours for the Festival. (Preschool ONLY families are required to complete a minimum of four (4) service hours for the Festival. If families have students in BOTH the preschool and the elementary school, six (6) service hours are required.) Two of the hours may be completed prior to the festival week, but at least four (4) hours must be completed between Monday, April 1 and Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Students may not fulfill the family service hour requirement; however, this is an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn service credit hours.

Please note, each family is obligated to complete the required Festival service hours or pay $100 for each uncompleted hour of service.

We are currently working on the Festival signup genius. Each school family will be assigned a Family ID, which will be included on the Festival packets when they are sent home with eldest siblings. This Family ID will be required to sign up for your family’s service hours on the Festival Signup Genius. This will help in tracking and reporting all family Festival service hours. For questions regarding service hours, please email Ashley Hall, Festival Volunteer Coordinator or Jamon Reval, our Festival Chairman.

On a side note, we will be opening the OLMC 30-Year Time Capsule after the Live Auction. Come see what the OLMC Class of 1989 added to the capsule.

THANK YOU, FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS!
