PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

This week was the Feast of St. Nicholas. The kids really enjoyed having him visit! A special thanks to Home & School for making his bishop’s outfit. He looked fantastic!

Don’t forget this Saturday is the St. Nick’s Breakfast from 8:30-10:30am in McCready Hall. Hope to see you there!

Mrs. Mulligan sent out information this week about the Christmas Program on Wednesday, December 19th. The children have been working hard and sound beautiful. It is going to be a great program.

Have a wonderful week,

Kelly Shewbridge

STUFF THE STOCKINGS OF TEACHERS AND STAFF

Stuff the Stockings 2018-2It is that time of the year again, when we are starting to think about Christmas and gift giving. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing gifts for the teachers, specials teachers, and staff, the following information may help you with your planning.

We realize that each of us cannot contribute as much as our hearts desire, but combined we are able to provide nice gifts for our teachers and staff. In keeping with this tradition, we are taking up a Christmas collection that is strictly voluntary.

Attached you will find the names of the teachers, specials teachers, and staff of OLMC.  You may give an amount specifically to individuals by indicating so on the form, or you may mark the box indicating that your donation will be evenly distributed among all the names on the list.

If you choose to participate:

  • Complete the attached form
  • Enclose cash or check payable to OLMC
  • Return it to the school office by December 18th

If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 480-967-8791.

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

I wanted to thank the Dad’s Club for a hosting their movie night this weekend. I appreciate all the work they put into organizing the event. The movie was cute!

As we begin the Advent season, we will start praying together in the morning before school and lighting the Advent Wreath. The 7thgrade students will lead us in prayer. This will begin at 8:05 am. If you have a few minutes, please stay and pray with us.

Friday is a half day with a 12:30 dismissal. The children can also wear jeans and a spirit shirt.

As Christmas break approaches, I would invite all families to use our FFT program for all your gift card and present buying needs. Thank you to all our families who have met their FFT minimum and continue to use the program to benefit the students. There are currently a number of bonuses that can be taken advantage of, and FFT will be sold at the Christmas play on December 19th.

I would ask all parents help in cleaning up a couple of issues in the parking lot. When dropping off students in the morning, please do so on the south side of the lot so parishioners exiting from morning mass and staff members entering for the day can navigate the north side safely. Also, as you enter campus, please enter slowly and be aware of pedestrians crossing and cross traffic moving to the front of the church at the exit. Please park on the south side of the parking lot in the afternoon. It is dangerous to exit through the north side as the children are waiting there. When leaving at the end of the day, please use the crosswalk so the children remain safe. Thank you for your diligence in making the pick-up and drop-off processes safe for all.

Have a wonderful weekend!

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday!

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who volunteered to help make STEM Day a success. The children really enjoyed the day!

Tuesday, November 27this Giving Tuesday. We encourage you to support Catholic Education Arizona by making a donation. Give the gift of Catholic education by re-directing your state liability to Catholic Education Arizona. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Mrs. Kubicki in the office.

As the weather begins to change, please be reminded that students may only wear OLMC sweatshirts in classrooms. Non-OLMC sweatshirts may be worn on the playground. I would also like to ask parents to ensure students are wearing tennis shoes on the days students have P.E. If a student is not wearing footwear appropriate to P.E., they will sit out the class.

Dad’s Club will be hosting their annual Movie Night on the field on Saturday, December 1stat 5:30pm. There is no admission charge. They will be selling pizza, chips and water for $3.00. You can’t beat that! Please bring your chairs and blankets. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you for your continued support.
