1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

It is hard to believe we are almost halfway done with the school year. It has been a wonderful first semester, and I look forward to the new year. Looking ahead to this week…..

Scrip (FFT) will be sold in the office every day this week from 7:45-8:45 a.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m. (12:00-1:00 p.m. Friday)!

There will be no Learning Labs this week.

This week is Spirit Week. The list of “Spirit Days” are attached. Remember that for pajama day, the children must wear a top and bottom, no sleep shirts.

On Tuesday we will have our Christmas Program dress rehearsal in the church at 1:00 p.m. Feel free to come and see the show or let grandparents know if they are unable to come on Wednesday. The dress code for the show is attached. On Wednesday evening, the doors to the church and the gates to the school will open at 6:30 p.m. Parents, please keep your children with you and walk your child to his/her classroom.

There is no Mass on Wednesday. We will end the week with Mass on Friday at 11:30 and dismissal at 12:30.

Have a wonderful Christmas with your families! Thank you all for your support this year.

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

I wanted to begin by thanking Home and School for their wonderful breakfast for the staff this past Friday. It was so nice to enjoy a home-cooked, hot breakfast with my school community. They wreaths and Christmas decorations they placed around campus look so inviting!

I also wanted to thank the Faith Formation Committee for the beautiful Advent decorations around the campus. The Prayer Garden looks amazing, and it is such a peaceful place to pray with the children in the morning as we light the wreath. If you have not had the opportunity to stay and pray with us, please take a few minutes to do so at 8:05.

We will not have Mass on Wednesday this week, as we will be celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, December 12th. During the Mass, we will have a procession of roses for Mary. If you are able to donate a dozen roses, please sign up at the link below.

The Full Circle Coffee Shop will be open next Friday, December 13th. The Student Leadership Team will also be selling donuts.

Thank you so much for the candy grams that were purchased this week! Over $700 dollars was raised through the Candy Gram sales. This money is going towards the playground. Thank you to the volunteers who took the time to sell these and prep them for delivery!

On Friday St. Nicholas visited the children in preschool through 8th grade. It was beautiful to see the wonder and excitement in the eyes of the children. This is such a fun tradition! I was impressed by how much the children knew about the life of this saint- especially the third graders!

We could not do what we do around the school without our wonderful volunteers! If you find extra time during this busy season, we are always looking for more volunteers to help with copies and preparing art for the children. Let me know if you are interested. We will work around your schedule!

Have a wonderful week,

Dr. Shewbridge

1. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear OLMC Community,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Thank you to everyone who helped with STEM day. This was a success!!

We will return to school on Tuesday, December 3rd and begin with praying together in the Prayer Garden and lighting the Advent Wreath at 8:05 a.m.

As part of the Diocese’s 50th Anniversary, Fr. Parks has asked us to pray a Novena leading up to a Marian Feast Day. We chose to pray the Novena leading up to the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Novena is attached. We will pray this together at school, but I encourage you to please pray it with your family at home.

Candy grams will be sold before and after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for $1.00 each. They will be delivered December 16th. The proceeds will benefit the playground fund.

Tuesday is Giving Tuesday. Many Student Tuition Organizations are offering matches to your gift. Please keep this in mind if you are planning to donate. Tuesday would be a great day!

Friday is a half day and a spirit shirt and jeans day. It also the Feast Day of St. Nicholas, so don’t be surprised if you hear he made an appearance!

See you Tuesday!
